I was extremely grateful for the insight and wisdom that both Dr. McCool and Dr. Bhuta were willing to impart to me and the other students. Medical students always appreciate hearing the perspectives of seasoned physicians, so having the opportunity to sit and speak candidly with doctors practicing in the community was a very enlightening experience. Dr. McCool and Dr. Bhuta were extremely gracious hosts, and I think that everyone in attendance had a wonderful time getting to know them and their family. UASOM is very lucky to have them as alumni!

Please let me add my thanks for everything that you did....and that you do....to allow us to enjoy our class reunions.  This one was especially special for us (the 50th) and you and your excellent handling of every aspect of it made it run so very smoothly; I can't think of anything that you didn't handle quickly and expeditiously.  My guess is that when you have to do something each year, like conduct class reunions, you get better and better at it.  I would say without hesitation, you have reached the peak of perfection in that department!!

Thank you so much for all you did to organize our Class Reunion. Every person I spoke with had positive comments about the events. Many of my classmates commented about the enormous changes to the appearance of the campus since our time at UAB in the 1970’s and several, including myself, also had very positive comments about the speakers. Our state should feel a sense of pride that UAB represents the very best of Alabama.

The award ceremony was absolutely wonderful and it was a great honor to be the recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award of 2023. I appreciate all the planning that went into the evening and the welcome my family and I enjoyed.  An evening that will endure in our memory for many years. It was perfect.

All went well last night.  They were all excellent and everyone seemed to have a great time.  Thank you for sending them to our home, and we really enjoyed getting to know them.

It was incredibly refreshing to sit down with our faculty members and get to know them as mentors rather than lecturers! I enjoyed each faculty member I chatted with and definitely plan to attend the next event.
